To Aru Kagaku no Railgun 04 – Public exhibitionists and those urban legends

Woman who randomly undresses in public, Imaginary Number district, an ability that blocks out other abilitys and increase your ability with Level Upper!

Urban legends aren’t really “legends” in Academy City, but reality in most cases – at least the ones they’ve said. Asides from walking into an imaginary district (but I think this refers to Kazahiri Hyouka), everything else has been seen in Index or will be seen in Railgun.

Flashback: How Misaka and Touma really met. Touma does something very similar to episode one of Index and tries to save her from a group of guys. Calling a Level 5 “a rude kid” isn’t really a good way to go for first impressions.

The undressing woman: A researcher into the AIM, or the weak powers that are unconsciously emitted. This will be a spoiler for people only watching the anime, so I’ll just say that you can expect to see more of her later.

Meanwhile, still on about urban legends, Saten tells Kuroko that the undressing is infectious and with Mikoto meeting with her right now, Kuroko panics. Putting each other’s underwear on their heads seems to be the rumoured method of undoing the infectious “curse”.

But the best part has to be that there was finally some action! Mikoto vs Touma. But of course Touma’s right hand dispels all of Mikoto’s electrical attacks, even her iron sand chainsaw.

Overall a good episode and again hinted at the Level Upper. I don’t see why they aren’t moving straight into that arc yet and instead, it looks like it’s Kuroko and Uiharu’s flashback chapter next week. Perhaps animating bombs is expensive?
