The possibility of a new Code Geass?

December 7, 2009

This could potentially cease all debate on the fate of  Lelouch at the end of R2. Bandai’s mobile website had the image (insert left) “New Code Geass Project started!” but now has been changed back to a R2 image. Personally, I would love another season of Code Geass, regardless of the method they use to produce the new season. That is, if they are promoting a new anime season (after all it could be a game, live action or something else?).

If it is an anime, here are some of the possibilities that they could go with:

  1. Continue on from R2 and revive Lelouch for a new story.
  2. Continue on from R2 and show the aftermath in a few OVAs much like the ending montage in “Re;” and the 25.6 picture drama, answering the questions left behind in R2.
  3. Alternative/Parallel worlds. They could animate some other Geass material such as the Nightmare of Nunnally manga (where Zero is even more badass and Nunnally has a Geass).

Ultimately, I’m secretly hoping for number 3, the Nunnally manga is pretty damn awesome. More information is to be released next year and this will be something to look forward to.

I’m slightly disappointed it ended up not being what I had hoped. This new “Renya of Darkness” manga looks interesting, but alas doesn’t have anything relation to Lelouch or Zero.
