Finally… some concrete Haruhi evidence.
So after being messed around with by Kadokawa for the past few months with their “boats” and totally unnecessary secrecy and messing around behind the whole season 2 saga, reports are coming in saying that this will in fact be a 28 episode season – including the re-run. This means the original 14 with some stations beginning broadcasting it in chronological and some in the original broadcast order. Sankaku Complex has reported from TV stations that it is going to be a mix between the re-run and new material.
This is utterly ridiculous. WHY HAVE THEY GONE THROUGH SO MUCH EFFORT to get rid of their fans???
Kadokawa are crazy. Haruhism has a huge fandom and they’ve pretty much made themselves hated for this. Yes, we love Haruhi and KyoAni, but Kadokawa has completely destroyed their reputation for being “reliable” and has probably driven some fans away in disgust as well. Haruhi-chan certainly wasn’t as satisfying as a new season would be.
The question is now: Will they air all the original episodes first? Or will they mix both old and new together? Or just full on chronological order for everything?
Personally I wouldn’t generally mind either way, but I’d prefer the original to be broadcasted first fully, as I’m rather busy for the next few months and probably won’t be able to find the time to squeeze in new episodes. Nonetheless, IF there are new episodes at the beginning, I certainly will watch them and place them on higher priority than the other shows for this season (asides from K-ON!).
So once new Haruhi material airs, my planned priority will probably be:
1. K-ON!
2. Haruhi
3. Heroes (only four more episodes to go)
4. Asura Cryin’
5. Code Geass
6. Queen’s Blade
7. 07-Ghost
P.S. K-ON! looks really good from the screenshots I’ve seen so far. Sooo cute. xD I’ll watch it this weekend when a good (not April Fools) sub is released. ^_^

Something I just got told:
The first episode of “The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya” was re-aired on Sun TV channel on April 3rd. It was the episode 1 in the chronological order “Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu I”. The animation of the main story was switched with the DVD version. The OP and ED animation were the same as the previous airing.
Looks like it might be all in chronological order? That way we’ll get a mixture of new and old episodes.
what’s written on the pic? i understan til “suzumiya haruhi no” but i can’t figure out the last part.
