Mikoto and Touma surveying the damage.

Mikoto’s rather cute looking there. <3

Yes, I know I’m way behind in blogging this as it’s been almost a week since it was released… but I was waiting for Eclipse’s subs and I ran out of time in the weekend to watch it. This episode concludes the sometimes erratically random first season of the show. For a show that has a useless main character, it did okay overall for me (as Mikoto was there). XD

Episode 24 thoughts

Touma's lecturing.

Firstly, will Touma ever shut up?? Ever since Innocentius at the beginning of the season, Touma has been preaching his “crap” about how so and so should fight for something etc etc… Even when he’s fighting, he seems to be able to slow down time and find the ability to explain himself and lecture others in battle? This was one of the parts I disliked about the episode – there was too little action and too much Touma-lecture.

Touma's Right knuckle sandwich?

Since when was Touma allowed to hit girls. Dx

The explanation for Cromwell’s decisions in attacking was random and rather poorly done. Ayano Katagiri does not approve of randomness, nor girl-bashing.

"Misaka does not approve either." とMISAKAを言いま~ Oh wait.

It's good to see Kuroko keep a tight hold on her Oneesama. XD

Why was Mikoto left out of the fight scene? *tears out hair* Instead we get a wannabe main character Index who can only interfere with the golem magic in manual mode. And turns out useless when the golem switched to Automatic as Touma knocked out Sherry.

I think it's necessary to say Hyouka is very cute. :3

Ending/Epilogue

I thought the ending theme fitted really well with the montage of shots. It heavily hinted at a second series and after all, why shouldn’t they? Through the 24 episodes they’ve only gone through 6 volumes of the light novels and there are around 20 in total so far. So we could be getting at least another two seasons if the popularity persists.

It seems there will be some further story involving Tsuchimikado and Aleister Crowley as well as Laura, Stiyl and Kanzaki. However, with the animation of the railgun series first, it may be awhile until we see the conclusion to this.

Mikoto fanservice always approved of. THIS is a scene from the Railgun series.

Final Thoughts

To be honest, it could have been better. Moar biribiri needed and less Touma-preach. Asides from that, I did enjoy myself while following the series and will definitely watch the Railgun anime as well as any sequels that follow. I do admit I prefer the scientific and Mikoto/Kuroko side of the story more than the magic but as a whole it was still decent. The animation was pretty good throughout as well, which always helps.

Final Rating: 9//10

Moreover, he hit her face. Twice! Unforgivable!

I find it kind of unfair how Touma always ends up owning the opposition simply by having them come into contact with his right hand. He needs more opponents who makes use of solid weapons, like Kaori.

i mean, why would i watch To aru majutsu no Index if it wasn’t because of Mami Kawada singing the OP songs ?? xD

I watched it for Biribiri. <3
If Mikoto hadn’t been in it, I would have ended up only listening to the songs on my playlist since I never really watch OP/EDs.
