Section 92A – New Zealand Copyright Infringement Law.

February 23, 2009

BLACKOUT!

Well, no. Not quite for me. I found out about this too late enough to implement and join in the blackout. But maybe next time.

But this law utterly ridiculous. Not only is it an intrusion to our freedom, but also an unreasonable method to police the law. Not only would we see a ridiculous amount of New Zealanders being affected by this, the cost that this law will bring is entirely unnecessary in the current economic crisis. Even if the cost is mainly directed at the ISPs.

I blame Labour for the bad law and National for not dealing with it sooner. At least National have now delayed the passing of the law until next month.

*sigh*

Lets hope this silly law gets completely written off and removed. It’s just a bother.
